Eyelid Surgery / Blepharoplasty
Unfortunately, the eyes are the first sign of aging. Saggy or “tired” eyes can be mistaken for moods and unpleasant personality.
Eyelid surgery, also known as blepharoplasty, is a surgical procedure to remove excess fat from both, the upper and lower eyelids. Blepharoplasty surgery is delicate, therefore is customized for every patient, depending upon his or her needs.
Eyelid surgery is an out-patient surgery performed under general anesthesia. Recovery time is from 7- 10 days. Final results last several years.
Facelift / Rhytidectom
A facelift, also known as rhytidectom, is a surgical procedure that reduces the sagging of the mid-face, jowls and neck to provide a more youthful appearance.
Facelift results are dramatic but are contingent upon each individual as age, genetics, skin elasticity and social habits (smoking. diet, sun exposure) are crucial. Incisions lines will fade for at least a year.
Under general anesthesia, the facelift procedure lasts from 3 – 6 hours. Over time, swelling and bruising will dissipate leaving smooth results.
Cheek Implants
Cheek implants are usually placed to enhance, contour and balance a person’s face. This procedure can provide symmetry and balance the facial features by inserting an implant, usually made by solid medical-grade silicone.
Patients are encourage to wait until the full face structure has matured; usually mid-twenties. The type and size of implant will be discussed during consultation with the doctor along with prescribed antibiotics.
Cheek implant surgery takes 1 – 2 hours and is an out-patient procedure. Recovery can take several months, however, most return to work after a couple of weeks. Results are permanent.
Chin Augmentation
Chin augmentation is to improve or enhance facial contours. Reshaping the chin by inserting an implant; usually made of solid medical-grade silicone. Implants are made with a variety of materials which will be discussed in private during a consultation with your doctor. It is important that your chin fit in proportion with the rest of your face. Chin enlargement can be performed under intravenous sedation or general anesthesia.
Surgery lasts 1 – 2 hours as an out-patient procedure. Recovery time is 7 – 10 days with final results when properly healed.
Forehead Lift
A good candidate for a forehead lift has noticed sagging eyebrows, tissue that hangs down at the outer part of the eyelids, or horizontal wrinkling (frontalis lines) of the forehead.
A forehead lift raises the brow region and upper eyelid by softening frown lines and vertical creases between the eyebrows also reduced by BOTOX®.
A forehead lift can involve small incisions in the scalp through which an endoscope is passed or making an incision across the top of your scalp a few inches behind your hairline. This procedure restores a more youthful appearance.
A forehead lift usually is and out-patient surgery lasts from 1 – 3 hours. Recovery time is approximately 10 days with a full recovery expected 2 – 3 weeks. Final results are several years; 5 – 10 years. |
